For 2017, Forbes ranked Sweden, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Ireland, and Denmark well-ahead the U.S. as the world’s best countries for business. Therefore, having a business degree that’s restricted by our national borders can be less marketable. Studying international business makes students better prepared for leading corporations that are spreading their operations abroad. International perspective gives students the multicultural competency to enter global finance, logistics, human resources, marketing, and more. That’s excellent news because the BLS predicts that management occupations will grow by 6 percent for 505,400 new jobs by 2024. International business majors can claim lucrative jobs like IT system manager or purchasing director where median salaries are $131,600 and $108,120 respectively.
We’ve devoted this article to the Top 20 Best Online International Business Schools that make squeezing in managerial training easier. We began by using the NCES College Navigator database to search for public and private, nonprofit U.S. colleges offering bachelor’s or advanced international business degrees via distance education. Our search yielded 46 results, which we then narrowed down based on U.S. News and World Report rankings. We only selected nationally or regionally ranked colleges holding business accreditation from the AACBS, IACBE, or ACBSP for quality. Coursework had to be primarily online with resume-shaping foreign study opportunities available. Other important factors were tuition affordability, financial aid, cohort size, online technology, faculty mentoring, and experiential learning.
